A road trip inspired by a previous visit to the Berwyn mountain range and a reclusive figure I met whilst there. In my van I circumnavigate the Berwyn’s, straying from the sanctuary of villages towards the outposts of civilisation. I find myself spiralling inward, chasing my own desire for escape and solitude. The roads get narrower, the mountains loom, even the sheep become sparse. Chasing or running? Soon the road gives way to tracks, tracks that are eventually reclaimed by nature as stream beds. Here I can go no further; there is no one but me.
