This project explores how the legacy of The Troubles continues to affect younger generations through inherited or intergenerational trauma. Although many young people today did not experience the conflict directly, its psychological and social consequences remain present in family histories, community divisions, and cultural identities. Through mixed media images, the project examines how memories, silence, and unresolved trauma are passed down between generations, shaping how young people understand themselves and their place within a post-conflict society. By focusing on contemporary voices and experiences, the work reflects on the lasting emotional impact of the past and questions how trauma can persist long after a conflict has formally ended.
