‘Hypocritical Anti-Art’ is a response to the current art world. Built around my growing disinterest in photography as an art form I created a body of reactionary travel style photography and crafted the most classically artistic body of work I’ve made to date. This work was shot to be about the photographer as a disconnected viewer, an individual who simply looks and captures without comment. One who simply captures a frame that looks visually appealing without comment. To intentionally place this project in the landscape of the current art world, where many projects are explicitly anti-visual and are created from the context of the images, is what makes it simultaneously subversive and hypocritical. Thus giving it its name.
