Dylan Dehane - Bunny

An intimate photographic study of ‘Bunny’ — Artist and Dominatrix — exploring identity and sexuality, through layered documentary images that challenges stereotypes, while offering insight to lives often hidden from public view.

This project follows ‘Bunny’, an artist and part-time dominatrix living with fibromyalgia. Through an intimate documentary approach, the work explores themes of sex work and individualism, while challenging the assumptions and judgements often placed upon sex work. Sexuality within art is often softened or made more palatable for wider audiences, this project aims to challenge that by presenting Bunny’s life in an honest and nuanced way, looking into the complexity of her everyday life. Alongside her work within the sex industry, Bunny is also an artist and the devoted owner of her parrot, ‘Frankenstein’. These personal aspects are equally important to the narrative, allowing the work to move beyond stereotype and into something more human. Bunny portrays the interconnected nature of identity while giving the representation and normalisation of lives that are often misunderstood.
